Fourth Cultural Heritage Summer Course for Secondary School Students of the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao SARs (Application is closed)

The Antiquities and Monuments Office (“AMO”) now invites students of Hong Kong from Form 2 to 6 to join the fourth Cultural Heritage Summer Course for Secondary School Students of the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao SARs, which will be held from 25 to 26 August 2022 online.  The online summer course is jointly presented by the National Cultural Heritage Administration, the Development Bureau of the Hong Kong HKSAR Government and the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, and jointly organised by China Cultural Property Promotion Association, Macao Heritage Ambassador Association and the AMO.

The 2-day cultural heritage summer course this year aims at facilitating the participants to study cultural heritage conservation and the idea of bequeathing. Participants may take this opportunity to learn more about Chinese cultural heritage through lectures to be delivered by scholars and experts. Participants who complete the course successfully will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.  Details of the summer course are as follows:

Date: 25 August (Thu) to 26 August 2022 (Fri)
Way of Instruction: Courses are delivered via Tencent Meeting. Participants must possess related computer and communication devices, as well as download the software from the website below:

Target Group: Form 2 to 6 secondary school students (Applicants must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong SAR)
Quota: 20
Language: Putonghua (no simultaneous interpretation will be provided)
Fee: No course fee required

Notes to Applicants:

  1. The organisers reserve the rights to cancel or make changes to this Cultural Heritage Summer Course in response to the latest development of COVID-19.  In case of disputes, the decision of the organisers will be final and binding on all parties concerned.
  2. Participants must login according to the course arrangements as seen at Annex I and complete the 2-day course in order to be awarded a Certificate of Completion.
  3. Lot-drawing will be conducted if the course is over-subscribed.  Successful applicants will be notified by email from AMO.
  4. AMO will notify successful applicants on or before 12 August 2022 (Fri) by email. Applicants who do not receive email notification by 17 August may assume their applications unsuccessful.
  5. If successful applicants are not able to join the course, please inform Miss Ida Lui of AMO on 2208 4413 during office hours as soon as possible.
