Declared Monuments @ Hong Kong (19 July – 10 August 2016)

As of May 2016, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has declared 114 items as monuments under the protection of the Antiquities and Monuments Ordinance. These declared monuments are of great archaeological value and historical significance, and are fascinating heritage from the early inhabitants and ancestors, giving us the opportunity to understand and appreciate their relationship with the development trajectory of Hong Kong and people's livelihoods in different eras. This exhibition is organised by the Antiquities and Monuments Office. Through displays divided into six themes, the "Declared Monuments @ Hong Kong" exhibition provides us with a retrospect on the history of the declared monuments and how they relate to the societal and cultural development of Hong Kong.
