“A Journey through Hong Kong’s Postal History – A Glimpse of Hong Kong’s Postal History through the Old General Post Office Building (1911 - 1976)” Thematic Exhibition

Showcasing the old GPO building that once stood at the junction of Des Voeux Road and Pedder Street, the exhibition presents the development of the local postal service from 1911 to 1976 when the building was in use. The daily postal operations carried out in the building are featured by photos, vintage posting boxes, postal equipment, stamps issued and the interviews of the post office staff who used to work there. A corner in the exhibition is set for highlighting the distinctive architecture of the old GPO building with models and a giant wall photo.

Information about the exhibition can also be obtained from Hongkong Post’s website http://www.hongkongpost.hk.
