Friends of Heritage Scheme 2013 is now opened for application

The Antiquities and Monuments Office (AMO) has launched the Friends of Heritage (FOH) Scheme since 1997. A wide range of heritage-related training and activities have been arranged for our members, including lectures, workshops and guided visits to monuments. Over the past years, our FOH have volunteered in heritage publicity events, such as International Museum Day Hong Kong, public workshops, school programmes and guided tours. The Office appreciates their enthusiasm and help in promoting local heritage.

In this year, AMO will recruit 120 participants for the Scheme. The applicant should be a Hong Kong resident aged 18 or above and interested in promoting heritage conservation. Applicants who have attended the Briefing Session, and completed at least 10-hour of activity / voluntary work within the practical period will be eligible to become our members. Briefing Session will be held at Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre on 20 Apr 2013(Sat).

Application:

  1. Please send the completed application form to AMO by fax, email or post. AMO reserves the right for the acceptance of applications.
  2. If over application, participants will be selected by open lot drawing. If open lot drawing is required, the result will be announced on AMO website.
  3. Successful applicants will be notified in writing. Applicants who do not hear from the Office on or before 18 Apr 2013 may presume their applications unsuccessful.
  4. If there are vacancies after the deadline, applications will be processed on a first come first served basis.

Deadline for application: 5:00 p.m. on 22 March 2013

Unless otherwise specified, activities for the FOH Scheme will be conducted in Cantonese.
