Original Site of the Alice Memorial Hospital and College of Medicine for Chinese, Hongkong

The Alice Memorial Hospital and the College of Medicine for Chinese, Hongkong within it were established by Ho Kai and the London Missionary Society in 1887. In the same year, Dr Sun Yat-sen transferred from Canton Hospital in Guangzhou to the college to pursue his medical training, graduating with distinction in 1892. Later, the college merged with the Faculty of Medicine of The University of Hong Kong. The hospital was moved to 2 Bonham Road and renamed Nethersole Hospital. This historic site is now marked by the Dr Sun Yat-sen Historical Trail. (A memorial plaque can be found on Hollywood Road)
