Former Central Police Station Compound

First constructed in 1864, the former Central Police Station Compound underwent several expansions in different eras, with the imposing building that today stands on Hollywood Road built in 1919 and decommissioned in 2004. The former Central Police Station Compound, Central Magistracy and Victoria Prison Compound together form an architecturally and historically significant complex that represented law and order in Hong Kong. The compound was declared a monument in 1995, and revitalised as ‘Tai Kwun – Centre for Heritage and Arts’ in 2018.
