The Xing Yan Lou restaurant was often used as a meeting place for Dr Sun Yat-sen and his comrades as well as a refuge for revolutionaries from outside Hong Kong who took part in the first uprising of 1895 that attempted to seize control of Guangzhou. This historic site is now marked by the Dr Sun Yat-sen Historical Trail. (A memorial artwork can be found on Lyndhurst Terrace)
