4-8 Garden Road

Completed in 1849, St. John’s Cathedral is the oldest surviving Western ecclesiastical building in Hong Kong. It has undergone several alterations and was even converted into a clubhouse by the Japanese during their occupation of the city (1941-1945), but was fully repaired and reopened after World War II. The cathedral was declared a monument in 1996.
